Mathematics Programmes of Study is a resource pack. It is designed to help secondary schools in their own INSET programmes, and has therefore been written with local or departmental groups in mind. The material is lively and the activities are well thought out.

The pack has been written for the National Curriculum Council in collaboration with the Association of Teachers of Mathematics and the Mathematical Association.

An important feature of the pack's structure is that different sections and units can be used as required. It is designed to 'dip into'. Schools can match their choice of material from the pack to their own needs and priorities.

Equally, this is a long-term resource. Reviewing a mathematics scheme of work for a year-group cannot be done in a hurry. Different groups may wish to tackle different issues at different times.
